WEST SACRAMENTO ROTARY FOUNDATION ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

West Sacramento Rotary Foundation was formed on March 27, 1998

Foundation Mission - “To Provide Scholarships and other support to Individuals in the West Sacramento Community”.

Foundation Motto – “DREAM to make a difference in the lives of young people; GIVE generously to advance educational opportunities for our future leaders; ACHIEVE a legacy in your community”.

Foundation receives its support from the General Public (vs. a Private Foundation where General Public giving is less than 33%).  A Significant portion of the General Public support comes from individual members of the Rotary Club of West Sacramento.

Foundation has procedures and controls to manage its assets.  It has established Policies for Scholarship Endowment Investment, Scholarship Disbursements, Donor Gifts and Securities Valuation.

Scholarships are awarded by a Scholarship Selection Committee.  This Committee reports directly to the President of the Rotary Club of West Sacramento.  The Committee has established strict guidelines for awarding Scholarships.  The duty of screening, verifying and selecting Scholarship Applicants is the responsibility of the Club President and the Scholarship Committee.   The Foundation will monitor the Committee to ensure that standards remain high.

The Endowment Security Investments are managed by Raymond James.  The Foundation also has Cash accounts (money market and CD’s) which are maintained at Community Business Bank.  A Director of the Foundation is appointed as the Investment Chairman who is responsible for monitoring the Investment Portfolio.

Foundation Board is comprised solely of Directors who were past Presidents of the Rotary Club of West Sacramento.

100% of all donations made to the Foundation are invested for Foundation purposes.  The Foundation is not charged for accounting or annual compliance work.
